Should I refinance my home if I plan on selling it within 2 years?

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009
heh asked:

I have a $92,000 home loan at a fixed rate of 6.75 for 30 years. Right now my payment is $600 per month. This does not include my PMI payment of $46.25 a month.
I plan on making this same payment after refinancing, but applying the excess to the principal. Would this be beneficial to me if I am going to sell the house in 2 years? Should I let it be? Should I get a loan for a shorter amount of time?

Can I refinance my car with a credit union AND endorse a co-signer without any hurting inquiries?

With the inquiries. I have like 4-5 tops from the last 8 years and since the credit industry is getting increasingly anal about its policies, is there any way I could do these things in the same period of time?

How long did it take to refinance your home?

ounlopez asked:

I filled out an application with Countrywide. They approved it, but I need an appraisal. They say it will take 45-60 days. This seems like a long time. Has anybody else done this recently? How long did it take?
Well, Countrywide was able to do everything on the phone instantaneously except the appraisal. Their fast track program meant they didn’t have to verify my income, which worked well for me. Being a current customer also gave me a better interest rate (4.7%). They say they have already requested the appraisal, and that an appraiser will contact me within 4 days. Knowing all this, I was surprised they said it would take 45-60 days to complete the entire loan process.

How often can someone refinance a home mortgage?

Monday, May 25th, 2009
Mr. Christopher asked:

Lets say in a 3 year period? I know I have enough equity in the home and just wondered if someone knew. Thanks!
The main reason for my question is I refinanced last year. My mortgage was then purchased by another lender and the new lender is THE WORST in service. I want to get away from them but was not sure how. I could not stop my loan from being bot/sold but wish I could have.

I have not yet bought a home but I am curious what effects refinancing. Is it based on how much equity you have built?
