halloweenbaby10311972 asked: we got a used auto and financed through the dealership and the interest rate is extremely high. Should i refinance this loan or take a loan from my bank with a lower interest rate and pay off my vehicle and just pay the bank back.

Amber M asked: I was financed with bi-monthly payments of $179 and an intrest rate of 29%. I was told that if I focus on making these payments on time, it can actually improve my credit score. Then if I can save, say, another $1,000 to put down later and then refi, that could also change the high intrest rate and improve my score even more?
My credit is horrible… I’m working on fixing that now. Buying a clunker is not an option. Seeking answers from financial professionals.

jimbob66 asked: I recently applied for an auto loan to start building some credit. I have the money to pay it off right away, but I was waiting to start building my credit. Is there any benefit to taking months to pay it off or is just having a loan enough to build credit? Is there a good amount of months to wait to pay it off?

Paul McBride asked: A couple of year s ago. I took out an auto loan and the lender in the country I am living in indexed the loadn against a basket of currencies. Everything seemed to be going fine until recently when the currency of the country I am living in started to depreciate against other currencies. I notice that my new principal took a hit in the upward direct by approximately the same percentage as the decline in the local currency so I now owe more than I did a year ago. If my currency here recovers to previous levels will the principal also go down?

Ariana B asked: I want to do some extra work on my car to enhance it’s value and condition, rather than just trade up. I like my car and I know what I’ve got into it already. I don’t want to get another used car–something that I have to start all over learning about, in terms of its mechanical needs. I just want to make my current car better, with the extra cash imbedded in the refinance.

Kenneth D asked: My wife had no credit when I got the loan, but she has credit now and I want to add her to the loan, but to do so I will have to refinance. This could hurt my score? But could help my intrest rate. (Currently 13%) My credit has also gotten better since the loan. It’s been 7 months now, I heard I should wait until a year.
